14 Best AI Video Interview Platforms in 2026 (Compared)

Fourteen AI video interview platforms compared on formats, AI scoring, integrity checks and fit, with a buying checklist for hiring teams in India.

Quick answer

An AI video interview platform sends candidates a link, records their answers to set questions on their own time, then transcribes and scores the answers or summarises them so reviewers watch only the strongest. The right one depends on your volume, whether you also need live interviews, how cheating is checked, and whether candidates can take it on a phone in their language.

Key takeaways
  • Most platforms now do one-way (asynchronous) interviews; fewer combine them with live interviews, scoring and proctoring in one place.
  • Ask every vendor what the AI scores. Score what candidates say against a rubric, not faces or accents. HireVue dropped facial analysis in 2021.
  • Integrity checks matter more each year: Gartner predicts one in four candidate profiles worldwide will be fake by 2028.
  • For hiring in India, check mobile recording, WhatsApp reminders, Indian languages and DPDP Act support before features lists.

What is an AI video interview platform?

It is software that runs the first interview round on video without a live interviewer. You set the questions and time limits, candidates record their answers on a phone or laptop when it suits them, and AI transcribes, scores or summarises each answer. Recruiters and hiring managers then review a ranked list instead of sitting through every first-round call. Some platforms also host live interviews, coding tests or proctoring. For the step-by-step mechanics, see how AI video interviews work; for when to use recorded versus live rounds, see live vs asynchronous video interviews.

Each entry is based on the vendor's own website, checked on 12 Oct 2026. Hirin.ai is our product and is listed first; the rest are in no particular order, and no vendor paid to be included. We don't list prices because most vendors quote on request and change plans often; check each pricing page before you shortlist.

1. Hirin.ai

Hirin.ai sends one link, candidates record answers on their phone or laptop, and WhatsApp reminders go out until they finish. Every answer is transcribed and scored against your rubric, with the quotes that earned each score; accent, looks and background are not scored. Integrity flags (answers that match AI-generated text, long looks away, tab switching) are timestamped for a person to review, and nobody is rejected automatically. The same profile holds the CV score, AI voice screening answers in English, Hindi and 22+ Indian languages, and skill tests. See Hirin's AI video interview software.

2. HireVue

HireVue runs 24/7 AI screening interviews built on structured, job-related questions, and an interview co-pilot that takes notes and summaries in live interviews on your own Zoom or Teams. It also offers skills and game-based assessments and an assessment builder. HireVue removed facial analysis from its assessments in 2021, saying language analysis had become more predictive.

3. Spark Hire

Spark Hire combines an applicant tracking system with one-way video interviews, behavioural assessments and AI that helps score candidates and automate repetitive steps. Interviewer calendars sync so candidates can book the next round themselves.

4. VidCruiter

VidCruiter covers pre-recorded and live video interviews with built-in rating guides, recording and panel support, and works with Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet. It adds scheduling, skills testing, automated reference checks and video proctoring, which suits processes that must be documented.

5. Jobma

Jobma offers one-way interviews, live and panel interviews, and an AI interviewer that asks role-specific questions in the first round. Its AI assistant drafts questions and summarises answers, and it lists interview fraud prevention.

6. Talview

Talview pairs an AI interviewer (Ivy) with live interview rooms, continuous face authentication and synthetic-media detection, plus a proctoring agent, assessments and coding tests. It says human reviewers make the final decision on flagged candidates.

7. Harver

Harver is mainly a predictive assessment and volume-hiring platform with a video interview product. It positions itself for BPOs, contact centres and retailers, where assessments matter as much as the interview.

8. X0PA AI

X0PA AI covers sourcing, screening, interviews, offers and analytics. Its X0PA ROOM runs asynchronous video and text assessments at scale, alongside live interviews with AI-assisted evaluation and virtual job tryouts.

9. interviewstream

interviewstream offers on-demand and live video interviews, scheduling (including hiring events), AI interview summaries and an AI recruiting assistant, with integrations for systems such as iCIMS and Taleo.

10. myInterview

myInterview built a mobile-first one-way video screening tool and was acquired by Radancy in September 2025; its website now leads to Radancy's screening and scheduling product. Consider it if you already use Radancy.

11. Shortlister

Shortlister offers accessible video interviews with built-in fraud prevention, skills tests and authenticity checks, used for both graduate hiring and university admissions.

12. Elevatus

Elevatus offers secure video assessments for large applicant pools, with AI personality reports and filtering tools inside a wider recruitment suite.

13. RecRight

RecRight is a straightforward one-way video recruiting tool that integrates with ATS platforms such as Teamtailor.

14. Tazio

Tazio offers one-way and live video interviews with competency-based question libraries, and is listed on the UK government's G-Cloud marketplace.

What should you check before you buy?

  1. What exactly is scored. Ask for a sample scorecard. Good platforms score what the candidate says against your rubric and show the evidence. Avoid tools that score facial expressions, accent or appearance.
  2. Who decides. AI should rank and flag; a person should make every rejection. Check that flags sit beside the score, not inside it.
  3. How cheating is caught. Gartner found 6% of 3,000 candidates admitted to interview fraud such as posing as someone else. Ask how the tool spots read-out AI answers, second screens and impersonation.
  4. Candidate access. Test the link on a basic Android phone on mobile data, in the languages your candidates speak, and check reminders on WhatsApp, not just email.
  5. Your systems. Confirm the ATS, calendar and interview scheduler integrations you need, so shortlisted candidates book the next round without email back and forth.
  6. Data and consent. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, candidates should know what is recorded and why, and recordings should be kept only as long as needed.

What does research say about AI video interviews?

  • Structure is what predicts performance. A 2022 re-analysis by Sackett, Zhang, Berry and Lievens found structured interviews had the highest average operational validity of the selection methods it reviewed (.42), ahead of cognitive ability tests (.31). A one-way interview is structured by design: same questions, same time, same rubric.
  • Use is growing but still a minority. In TestGorilla's 2025 survey of 1,084 people involved in hiring in the US and UK, 20% of employers said they use AI to interview candidates.
  • Candidates are wary. Gartner found only 26% of job applicants trust AI to evaluate them fairly, and Pew Research found 71% of US adults oppose AI making the final hiring decision. Tell candidates how the interview is used and keep people in charge of decisions.

When doesn't an AI video interview help?

Skip it for senior or niche roles with a handful of applicants, where a live conversation sells the role as much as it assesses the person. Don't use it before candidates know anything about the job: a short voice or WhatsApp screen on notice period, pay and location usually comes first, and the video round follows for those who qualify. And don't treat a score as a verdict; review flagged and borderline candidates yourself.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best AI video interview platform?
There isn't one best platform for everyone. High-volume teams in India usually need mobile recording, WhatsApp reminders and Indian languages; enterprises often need assessment science and ATS integrations; regulated hiring needs proctoring and audit trails. Shortlist three platforms that fit your volume and run the same role through each.
What is the difference between a one-way and a live video interview?
In a one-way (asynchronous) interview, candidates record answers to set questions on their own time and reviewers watch later. In a live interview, the candidate and interviewer talk in real time. Many teams use one-way interviews for the first round and live interviews for final rounds.
Does AI judge facial expressions in video interviews?
It shouldn't. HireVue removed facial analysis from its assessments in 2021, and Hirin.ai scores only what candidates say against your rubric, not how they look or sound. Ask any vendor for a sample scorecard to see what is scored.
Can candidates cheat in AI video interviews?
Some try, by reading AI-generated answers or using a second screen. Good platforms flag answers that match AI-generated text, long looks away and tab switching, and timestamp each flag so a person can watch the moment and decide.
Are AI video interviews legal in India?
Yes, if you handle candidate data lawfully. Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, tell candidates what is recorded and why, use recordings only for that hiring process, limit access and delete them when no longer needed. Keep a person responsible for hiring decisions.

Every platform re-checked against its own website (myInterview is now part of Radancy; Breezy HR removed as its video features could not be confirmed), added a comparison table, a buying checklist, research with sources and an FAQ. Removed unsourced time-saving claims. 14 Jul 2025: first published.
